This easy Slow Cooker Corned Beef has a flavor of maple and mustard. It’s a nice change of pace for St. Patrick’s Day.
For the last few years I’ve made a standard Corned Beef and Cabbage. Though that meal turns out great, I really wanted to step this meal up a notch. The first thing I changed was to throw away the packet of pickling seasoning that came with the corned beef.
I cooked a corned beef without the pickling packet for the first time, and I’m glad I did! I could taste the meat’s real flavor, and the peppercorns didn’t hurt my mouth. This is a fun and unique recipe to try for St. Patrick’s Day.
We also make slow cooker corned beef hash this time of year. It goes well with an over-easy egg.

How to make Maple Mustard Corned Beef:
- Pick out a corned beef. If I can find it, I like flat cut, but point cut works just as well.
- Get the corned beef, maple syrup, yellow mustard, garlic, black pepper, and cooking oil to brown it.
- Mix together the sauce ingredients. Set aside.
- Brown the corned beef on all sides.
- Pour the maple-mustard mixture over the corned beef. Place the lid on the slow cooker.
- Cook for 7 hours on low.
- Serve and enjoy.
