Packing a hearty home-cooked lunch is satisfying on so many levels. Not only does it save money compared to eating out but you can control ingredients for health and taste. Sausage rolls in particular make an amazing midday meal. Their flakey outside and savory interior perfectly satisfies midday hunger. There’s just one catch – keeping those steaming hot sausage rolls warm until lunchtime.
With a few simple tricks, you can enjoy freshly baked flavor hours after packing your lunchbox. Insulated containers, strategic packing, and supplemental heat sources make sure your sausage rolls stay hot and delicious right up until lunch break. Follow these tips and you’ll be the envy of the office when you unwrap piping hot sausage perfection.
Let Rolls Cool Completely Before Packing
It may be tempting to pack sausage rolls straight from the oven, but this can lead to a soggy mess later. Allow freshly baked rolls to come to room temperature before packing into your lunchbox. As they cool, moisture redistributes evenly throughout the pastry so it doesn’t get saturated in one spot later on
