We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries teamed up with large charities who help distribute it to smaller organisations.

This process is still in place, but we’ve also worked hard to get more of our stores’ unsold food donated, and we now help a nationwide network of good causes.

In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Greggs Outlet shops. A portion of the store’s profits, equal to ‚£450,000, were then given back to the communities we serve.

We are no longer accepting new applications for end-of-day food donation partners. However, we are still looking for areas where our shops could support a local charity collection, and we are still committed to working toward our goal of 100% of our surplus food going to people who need it. It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can be different in different places and parts of the country. For example, rent prices can be different in different places. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.

We have to charge VAT if you wish to ‘eat in’ which we then pass over to HMRC. We also charge a little extra in our café shops as we provide additional services. We’ll always let you know by showing both the eat in and takeaway prices on our shelf tickets.

Even though we do everything we can to keep our products from being cross-contaminated, we can’t promise that it hasn’t happened because of how we make, bake, and deliver our food. To find out more information on this, you can read our Nutritional and Allergen information here. We also have an advice notice in every shop to explain this.

When we make our treats at Greggs, we’re proud to use fresh ingredients. We take great care to remove any small pieces of fruit stone, egg shell, bone, or nut shell that might still be in them.

As some recipes vary by region, our nutritional information can differ from shop to shop. This means that the nutritional information in our shop does not include all products. To get nutritional and allergen information for a specific product, please contact our Customer Care Team.

At the moment, we don’t have a Halal menu, but we’re always looking for ways to add more items. Like many food companies, we get our chicken from a number of different suppliers. Some of these suppliers follow the HFA rules for chicken. That being said, we can’t call this Halal because neither of our shops nor our bakeries are separate.

We are very careful to make sure that the animal products we use in our recipes are made in a way that doesn’t hurt or exploit animals. At Greggs, we put animal welfare first, which is why we use the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) to track our progress. We’re proud to be one of the few companies in our field to have kept a Tier 2 relationship with them for four years in a row, and we work hard to make sure that everyone in our supply chain keeps getting better.

100% of the eggs we use come from free-range hens, whether we buy them whole or in liquid form. This refers to hens that don’t live in cages or other small spaces and are free to move around.

All of our mayonnaise is pasteurised and suitable for pregnant women. We’d always recommend you check with your doctor to ensure they’re comfortable for you to eat this.

When we do, we only use 100% sustainable palm oil in our food and drinks, and we’re proud to be a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Gregg’s gluten-free products are made with recipes that don’t contain gluten, and the factories that make them have strict rules about gluten and test for it all the time. Our shop staff has been trained on gluten, and there are controls and a testing system in place to make sure that gluten doesn’t get into other items in our shops.

We bake our own bread every day and use it to make daily-fresh sandwiches in our own shops. During the day, our savory items are baked fresh in the shop ovens.

We sell savouries that are freshly baked in our shop ovens, then put on the shelf to cool. Because of this, we don’t keep them in a hot place, package them in a way that keeps the heat in, or market them as hot. As bakers, we believe that baking our savouries fresh each day gives customers the best quality product. The sausage rolls and bakes would have to be subject to VAT if they were kept hot after they were baked, so the customer would have to pay more. This is similar to how we charge VAT on our hot sandwiches that are kept in a heated cabinet.

Please make sure you have the most recent version of the Greggs app on your device so you can get the most out of it. This includes our new payment features.

When you place an order or top-up, you’ll be prompted to re-add your card details before making payment. You’ll also be able to remove any saved cards on this screen, should you need to.  Â.

We’ll let you know in the Greggs app when it’s time to change your card information and set up auto-top-up payments. If you use auto-top-up, we’ll let you know the day before the switch that your payments may not go through as planned.  .

We’re always working to make the Greggs app better, and this change will make it easier to pay when you use Click & Collect to place an order or just add money to your account.  .

In your Greggs App there are six different categories to collect stamps in. These categories include things like bakes, sweet treats and hot food. When you buy a single item in those groups, you’ll get a stamp in that group when you scan your Greggs app. You only need to get nine stamps in a category to get the tenth item for free. It’s that easy (and tasty)! Some items, like multipacks, work a little differently.  For full T&Cs, click here.

When you are ready to pay, just tell the shop worker that you have a reward, open the Wallet section of your app, and scan the QR code at the till. Remember to check that your reward is toggled ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ when scanning. You can turn it “OFF” if you want to scan but would rather save your reward for another time.

We want you to use your reward when you want to. All of your rewards are automatically turned ON. Make sure to turn off your reward in the app before you scan your phone if you don’t want to use it.

We are sorry, but we can’t offer rewards for purchases made through Just Eat or Uber Eats delivery right now. We are working hard to make this possible in the future, though.

Stamps can take up to 24 hours to appear in your account. Your QR code has to be linked to the till for the app to add a stamp to your record. It looks like something went wrong when you scanned your app because you don’t have a stamp and there’s no receipt for your visit in your Purchase History. If you Contact us we’ll do everything we can to get it sorted for you.

Your rewards have an expiry date which will be shown against the reward in the app.

All gift cards are valid for 2 years from date of purchase. If you’re still worried about losing a balance, please get in touch with us, and we’ll do everything we can to help you.

Yes, when you use the Greggs app and place an order for Click & Collect, you will get gifts and stamps. If you order from our website, remember to log in before you pay so you can get your well-deserved stamps. You’ll be able to see your rewards progress when you next open the Greggs App. .

It’s only possible to pick up your original order when you get to the shop. This is so we can make sure we can serve all of our customers. Don’t worry, though; it’s very easy to place an order, and you can do it as many times as you want.

This helps us keep track of how many people are served at once and makes sure your visit to the shop is as smooth as possible.

We are sorry, but we can’t offer rewards for purchases made with Just Eat or Uber Eats right now. We are working hard to make this possible in the future, though.

Were afraid at the moment we can only accept payment via credit or debit card in advance. We hope to add more payment methods in the future.

You can order up to 10 of any one item. We do this to make sure that all of our customers can get what they want. It’ll also help us manage queues in shops and allow us to serve customers as safely as possible.

How Long Do Fresh Greggs Sausage Rolls Last at Room Temperature?

Freshly baked Greggs sausage rolls taste best when eaten right away According to food safety experts, fresh Greggs sausage rolls should only be left at room temperature for

  • 2 hours maximum once purchased

If you leave fresh Greggs sausage rolls out for more than two hours, condensation will form inside the pastry as it cools. This makes it perfect for bacteria to grow. To keep food safe and get the best taste, fresh Greggs sausage rolls should be frozen or refrigerated within two hours of being bought.

How Long Do Greggs Sausage Rolls Last Refrigerated?

Putting fresh Greggs sausage rolls in the fridge helps them last for a few extra days. Properly stored in the fridge, Greggs sausage rolls will last:

  • 3 to 5 days refrigerated

Let sausage rolls cool completely before putting them in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag to store them in the fridge. Make sure to pop them in the fridge within 2 hours of purchasing.

The chilled environment of the refrigerator significantly slows the growth of spoilage bacteria. Refrigerated Greggs sausage rolls stay fresh and tasty for 3 to 5 days.

How Long Do Greggs Sausage Rolls Last Frozen?

For even longer storage, Greggs sausage rolls freeze beautifully. Frozen properly, Greggs sausage rolls will keep well for:

  • 2 to 3 months in the freezer

To freeze fresh Greggs sausage rolls, let them cool completely first, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap or foil. Place in a freezer bag, forcing out excess air before sealing.

Label the package with the date and contents before placing in the freezer. Frozen at 0°F, the sausage rolls won’t suffer from bacterial spoilage.

How to Reheat Greggs Sausage Rolls

Fortunately, it’s easy to revive refrigerated or frozen Greggs sausage rolls to warm, golden perfection.

For refrigerated rolls, reheat in a 300°F oven for 10 minutes, or until heated through.

To reheat frozen rolls, bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Microwaves tend to make the pastry soggy, so use the oven for the best texture and flavor.

Let sausage rolls stand 1 to 2 minutes before serving to allow the filling to cool slightly. Enjoy your reheated Greggs sausage roll with your favorite condiment or bakery companion, like a cheese straw or doughnut.

How to Tell When Greggs Sausage Rolls Are Bad

Like any perishable baked product, Greggs sausage rolls don’t last forever. Always inspect them before eating and watch for these signs they’ve spoiled:

  • Mold growing on the pastry
  • Slimy or sticky texture
  • Unpleasant sour odor
  • Dull greyish brown color

Discard Greggs sausage rolls at the first sign of mold or if you notice an “off” odor. A deteriorated, slimy texture also means they’ve spoiled.
