Overview of HoneyBaked Ham Turkey’s Shelf Life
The shelf life of HoneyBaked Ham turkey depends on whether it is fresh or thawed:
- Fresh (unopened): Up to 10 days refrigerated

These timeframes refer to whole HoneyBaked Ham turkey stored properly in the fridge. Sliced ham or turkey leftovers have a shorter shelf life of just 3 to 5 days.

Now let’s look at storage, signs of spoilage, and freezing guidelines in more detail.
Proper Storage for Maximum Freshness
To get the most mileage from your HoneyBaked Ham turkey, follow these storage tips:
-
Refrigerate promptly: Refrigerate fresh ham or turkey within 2 hours of purchasing. The fridge temperature should be 40°F or below.
-
Use original packaging: Leave ham or turkey sealed in its original foil or plastic wrap packaging to prevent drying out.
-
Wrap tightly: If repackaging, wrap ham or turkey tightly in plastic wrap or foil. Eliminate as much air as possible.
-
Use deli containers for slices: Transfer leftover sliced ham or turkey into sealed deli containers or resealable plastic bags.
-
Avoid cross-contamination: Store ham or turkey on a lower fridge shelf away from raw meat juices.
Proper refrigeration is key for maintaining freshness and quality.

Re: How far in advance can I buy a Honey Ham?
@SoonerI dont know your answer, but if they come vacuum packed, you can do it now for sure.
But I don’t know how to freeze ham. If it were any other meat, I wouldn’t wait five days to freeze it. When I know for sure I’m going to freeze some, I freeze a chunk as soon as I can. The idea behind this is that the fresher it is when I take it out to use it, the better it will be.
Hopefully someone way more knowledeable about ham will answer you soon.
Marry Christmas in the meantime.
