Get Ready to Burn Those Turkey Day Calories with Peloton’s 2023 Turkey Burn Classes

Post date |

It looks like the Turkey Burn world record attempt may have been too much for the Peloton servers. Alex Toussaint’s Turkey Burn run reportedly went off without a hitch, but Robin’s Turkey Burn ride at 10 a.m. (EST) was harder. People in the community who wanted to start their holiday with a 45-minute workout couldn’t log in for the ride, and some who did log in were kicked out! Riders who wanted to help break the Guinness world record and see Robin in one of her brightest outfits ever were frustrated by bikes that wouldn’t load and apps that wouldn’t work. Riders restarted bikes and refreshed multiple times; reports say sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. At press time, there were more than 28,000 riders reported in the class.

It’s that time of year again – time to gather with friends and family, eat copious amounts of delicious food and participate in Peloton’s annual Turkey Burn classes. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Peloton’s popular Thanksgiving workout series, and they are pulling out all the stops with a diverse lineup of classes to help you burn off those extra holiday calories.

An Inclusive Range of Modalities and Intensities

One of the great things about Peloton’s Turkey Burn classes is that they offer options for all fitness levels across a variety of workout types. This year’s lineup includes meditation, strength, cycling, running, rowing, and yoga so you can pick your favorites based on your needs and preferences. The class lengths range from 10-45 minutes, so you can choose quick stretches and meditations or longer high-intensity workouts to really crank up your burn. With 11 classes total, there are ample opportunities to get moving.

The classes kick off on November 20th with a peaceful 5-minute Gratitude meditation by instructor Anna Greenberg to set the tone of thankfulness leading up to the big day, This will be followed on November 21st with a 10-minute Gratitude meditation by Ross Rayburn

Once Thanksgiving arrives on November 23rd, the Turkey Burn content really ramps up. There will be a 30-minute two-for-one outdoor run with Matty Maggiacomo and Olivia Amato to get your heart pumping. Jess Sims will host a special 30-minute Fit Family class with a surprise guest instructor or PeloPup to make it fun for the whole household.

For some friendly competition on the leaderboard Robin Arzón is back to lead her highly anticipated 45-minute Turkey Burn cycling ride. This will be Robin’s first ride back after recently giving birth so expect it to be a tough one as she motivates you to “burn those birthing hips!”

Stretch It Out with Full Body Stretches

Speaking of Robin and giving birth – your hips and body may need a little TLC after going hard in the cycling saddle and run pavement. Luckily, Peloton has you covered with not one, not two, but THREE separate 10-minute Full Body Stretch classes spaced throughout the morning.

Instructors Ben Alldis, Assal Arian, and Jermaine Johnson will lead these stretches to help open up your hips, hamstrings, chest, shoulders and anywhere else that is feeling tight or strained from your workouts. Be sure to take advantage of these recovery-focused classes and foam rollers if you have them.

Row, Run and Yoga Flow Classes

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Turkey Burn without offerings in running, rowing and yoga.

For runners, Alex Toussaint will lead a tough 30-minute Turkey Burn tread run guaranteed to get your heart pumping and legs burning. Rowers can look forward to a 20-minute Turkey Burn rowing workout with Matt Wilpers focused on increasing endurance and power.

Finally, yogis can wind down and elongate tight muscles with Denis Morton’s soothing 30-minute Turkey Burn yoga flow class. Denis’ mindful flows are the perfect way to find stillness and be present after being surrounded by family and friends on Thanksgiving day.

Special Turkey Burn Badge for Completing Classes

As in previous years, Peloton will likely offer a special edition Turkey Burn badge for members who complete one or more of these Turkey-themed classes. Badge hunters and completionists will want to hop on the bike, tread, rower or mat to add this fun seasonal badge to their profile.

If you want to get a head start, take a look at Peloton’s ever-growing list of available badges to see which ones you can snag between now and Thanksgiving. Will you be able to catch them all?

Close Out Peloton’s 10 Year Turkey Burn Anniversary in Style

This diverse, welcoming collection of classes is a testament to how far Peloton’s Turkey Burn series has come in 10 years. What started as a few cycling classes has evolved into a fitness event with options for every member to feel included.

As Peloton’s biggest holiday of the year, you’ll want to hop on the bike, boot up the app, and join your friends and family in closing out Peloton’s 10 Year Turkey Burn Anniversary with a fun and fiery workout. See you on the leaderboard!
