This summer, Aldi is lowering the prices of more than 250 items to help shoppers deal with rising prices.
A press release says that the popular discount grocery store chain will lower the prices of seasonal must-haves like snacks, “better-for-you” foods, and things for BBQs and picnics.
Dave Rinaldo, president of ALDI U.S., said, “We don’t want food prices to stop people from spending time with family and friends or outside this season.” S. said in a statement.
Back in March, the company announced plans to add 800 of its discount grocery stores across the U. S. in a five-year expansion plan.
The price cuts will last until Labor Day for the most part. The company thinks they will save shoppers $100 million.

Overview of Bacon Sold at Aldi
Aldi sells a solid variety of bacon options, including:
-
Traditional sliced bacon – Available in multiple brands, flavors, thicknesses, and package sizes. This is Aldi’s most common bacon offering.
-
Pre-cooked bacon – Fully cooked strips for quick heat and eat convenience. Sold in smaller 6-8 ounce pouches.
-
Bacon ends and pieces – Irregular chunks and ends trimmed from whole bacon slabs. Typically the most budget-friendly bacon option.
-
Specialty bacon – Flavored bacon, uncured bacon, or thick-cut bacon sold for a limited time. More premium pricing.
-
Frozen bacon – Raw frozen bacon slabs to slice yourself at home. Only see these occasionally.
No matter what type of bacon you’re looking for, Aldi likely carries a version at an impressively low price point compared to traditional supermarkets or big box stores.
Sliced Bacon Pricing at Aldi
The bulk of Aldi’s bacon selection focuses on traditional sliced breakfast bacon. Here’s an overview of the pricing on regular sliced bacon at Aldi:
-
Appleton Farms Bacon (16 oz) – Their premium thick-sliced bacon for $3.29
-
L’oven Fresh Bacon (16 oz) – Affordable standard sliced bacon for $2.95
-
Never Any! Uncured Bacon (12 oz) – Specialty uncured bacon for $3.49
-
Burman’s Bacon (16 oz) – Aldi’s basic bargain sliced bacon for $2.49
To compare, most major grocers charge $4 to $7 for a pound of sliced bacon. Even Walmart’s cheapest Great Value bacon runs $3.98 per pound. Across the board, Aldi’s bacon prices consistently come in around $1 to $2 less per pound than other stores.
Aldi also regularly offers bacon in larger “family pack” sizes. You’ll commonly find 32 ounce packs of L’oven Fresh or Burman’s bacon for $4.99 to $5.79. This breaks down to only $1.50 to $1.80 per pound – an incredible value.
Pre-Cooked Bacon Prices at Aldi
For grab-and-go convenience, Aldi stocks fully cooked bacon ready to heat and eat. Pricing runs:
-
Park Street Deli Pre-Cooked Bacon (8 oz) – $2.95
-
Burman’s Pre-Cooked Bacon (6 oz) – $2.49
The per-ounce cost is higher than raw bacon since you’re paying for the pre-cooking convenience. But it still beats many grocery stores where pre-cooked bacon runs $4 to $5 per 8 ounce pouch.
Bacon Bits and Ends at Aldi
One extra budget-friendly bacon option at Aldi is bacon ends and pieces. Pricing typically runs:
-
Applewood Smoked Bacon Ends and Pieces (16 oz) – $2.49
-
Burman’s Bacon Ends and Pieces (16 oz) – $1.99
Since these contain irregular chunks and ends from whole bacon slabs, the cost per pound is noticeably cheaper than sliced bacon. If you don’t mind the irregularity, bits and ends provide outstanding bacon value.
Flavored and Uncured Bacon Selection
Aldi also carries select seasonal or specialty bacon varieties at slightly higher prices. These include:
-
Maple Flavored Bacon (16 oz) – $3.29
-
Jalapeño Bacon (16 oz) – $3.49
-
Never Any! Uncured Bacon (12 oz) – $3.49
While costing a bit more than basic bacon, these specialty flavors and uncured options still cost less than other stores. Compare to $5 to $6 per pound for similar products at mainline grocers.
Frozen Bacon Slabs at Aldi
Occasionally you may spot large frozen, raw bacon slabs for sale at Aldi. These let you slice your own thick-cut bacon at home. Pricing is in the $3 to $4 range for 1 pound slabs.
Frozen bacons slabs don’t hit Aldi stores regularly. But they offer a great value when available since thick-cut slabs can cost up to $6 or $7 per pound elsewhere.
